Bullets do fall down because of Earth’s gravity, but they are moving so fast that they travel a significant distance before they hit the ground. The distance a bullet travels before it hits the ground depends on the initial speed of the bullet, the angle at which it is fired, and the air resistance.

A bullet fired horizontally will travel much farther than a bullet fired straight up into the air. This is because the horizontal force of the bullet’s initial velocity is not counteracted by gravity. The bullet will continue to travel in a straight line until it is slowed down by air resistance.

A bullet fired straight up into the air will eventually reach its maximum height and then fall back down. The bullet’s vertical velocity will be counteracted by gravity, and the bullet will accelerate towards the ground. The bullet will hit the ground with the same speed it had when it was fired, but in the opposite direction.

The speed of a falling bullet can be reduced by air resistance. Air resistance is the force that opposes the motion of an object through the air. The amount of air resistance depends on the shape and size of the object, the speed of the object, and the density of the air. A bullet has a small surface area and a high speed, so it experiences a lot of air resistance. This air resistance slows down the bullet and reduces its impact energy.

The impact energy of a falling bullet is determined by the mass of the bullet and the square of its velocity. A bullet with a higher mass or a higher velocity will have a greater impact energy. The impact energy of a bullet can be enough to cause serious injury or death.

It is important to remember that bullets fired into the air can fall back down and injure or kill people. If you are at a celebration where people are firing guns into the air, it is important to take cover.
