Yes, modern education has created social stratification. In the past, social status was largely determined by factors such as family, wealth, and occupation. However, in modern society, education has become increasingly important in determining social status. This is because education is seen as a key to obtaining high-paying jobs and other opportunities. As a result, people with higher levels of education tend to have higher social status than those with lower levels of education.

There are a number of reasons why modern education has created social stratification. First, education is becoming increasingly expensive. This means that only people from wealthy families can afford to send their children to the best schools. Second, the quality of education varies greatly depending on the school. This means that children from wealthy families are more likely to attend schools that provide them with a high-quality education, while children from poor families are more likely to attend schools that provide them with a lower-quality education. Third, the educational system is often biased in favor of people from certain social groups. For example, standardized tests are often used to assess student performance, and these tests can be biased against people from certain racial and ethnic groups.

The social stratification created by modern education has a number of negative consequences. First, it can lead to inequality of opportunity. People from wealthy families have more opportunities to get a good education, which gives them an advantage in the job market and other areas of life. Second, it can lead to social unrest. People who feel that they have been denied opportunities because of their social class may become resentful and angry. Third, it can lead to a decline in social cohesion. When people are divided into different social classes, it can be difficult for them to work together and build a strong society.

There are a number of things that can be done to address the problem of social stratification created by modern education. One is to make education more affordable. This could be done by providing more financial aid to students from low-income families or by making college tuition-free. Another is to improve the quality of education in all schools. This could be done by providing more funding for schools, hiring more qualified teachers, and reducing class sizes. Finally, it is important to make the educational system more fair and equitable. This could be done by eliminating standardized tests, providing more support for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and creating a more diverse curriculum.
