Both were good stories

Both had amazing action sequences

Both had powerful dialogues

Yet RRR had some weaknesses over Baahubali

#1 Villian

Bhallal Dev (Rana Daggubati) is an awesome villian whose evil and whose hate resonates strongly. The audience look forward to the contest between Mahendra Baahubali and Bhallal Dev

Here there is no strong villian. The Governor plays a caricaturish buffoon British Bad guy (The Actor is a pretty good actor who played the lead in HBOs Rome), his wife tries to look evil but they come off as any of the 1001 Evil British Rulers in India from Bob Christo to Tom Alter

This was Baahubalis strength

#2 Supporting Cast

Baahubali shared its load and story among a number of good performances and strong characters – Devasena, Kattappa, Sivagami , even the Kalakeya Leader or the one played by actor Shatru and even the cameo by Sudeep – all memorable roles standing out to this day

RRR was all about NTR Jr and Ram Chara, Every other character was one dimensional like Rajiv Kanakala, The British Heroine, Alia Bhat, Samuthirakani, Shriya. They all came and went and not one performance was memorable. Only Ajay Devgn & Rahul Ramakrishna got remotely meaty roles.

Another strength for Baahubali

#3 Simplicity

Baahubali thrived in simplicity , just like Kantara or KGF 2

Simple plot. Revenge and Betrayal. Audiences lapped up the plot and Brahmaandam

RRR was a bit convoluted , a Low Ranker hoping to achieve a Senior Rank , access and loot an armory and get freedom for his people in 1930s India was a bit too much thinking for audiences

Its why Baahubali II made 517 Crore in Hindi, KGF 2 made 435 Crore in Hindi whereas RRR made only 325–330 Crore in hindi

Hindi audiences like simplicity

So i rate Baahubali as better than RRR
