When you make a Brahmaandam movie, the characters have to be as larger than life as possible

It requires a superb screenplay to convince the audience of this

Rocky Bhai, Baahubali the Son, Baahubali the father, Kattappa, Bhallal Deva, Sivagami, Adheera, Kondam Bheem, Pathaan are superbly evolved and convince the audience of their larger than life persona

Like Thanos or Captain America

Even Abraham Qureshi & Prithvirajs Character in Lucifer are well evolved

So is Mammootys character in Bheshma Paravam but the character played by the Android Kunjappan actor, Soubin Shahir becomes a comedy show. It’s like our Sathish suddenly be coming a mafia boss.

Meanwhile that’s where Tamil movies fail

We don’t build up characters and evolve them and so their larger than life depiction looks cartoonish

Like Vijay in Beast, Ajith in Vivegam. There is no evolution. They come, bash bad guys and have a couple of sidekicks mouth their achievements like “Do you know who he is”, “ When he comes the earth shakes” etc.

Meanwhile characters like Maanik Baasha, Padayappa, Senathypathy are well evolved and larger than life and convince the audience

We have lost the skill, others have apparently mastered it very well

Shankar once had it and used it superbly for Kiccha in Gentleman and Aranganaar in Mudhalvan and Chitty version 2.0 in Endiran however he has since lost the plot

Even Lokeshs only evolved characters were Bhavani and Dilli.
