Everyone’s voice is unique. I think, it’s not the voice that is majorly considered to be a singer. It’s the ability to sing in sur and taal that matters. I’m sure there were many singers with unique voice since humans started to sing. Didn’t they all do well?
A.R. Rahman’s, Kailash kher, Ila Arun, Lucky Ali, Roop Kumar Rathod, Mohit Chouhan, Papon, Usha Uttup, Nooran sisters, Wadali brothers, Vijay Prakash to name a few unique voices. They are successful because of the quality of their singing and not because of the era they are singing in.
