What is Queryee?
Queryee is a unique platform with a single goal: to make it easier for each one of us to share and grow our knowledge. Let’s face it: Much of the world’s knowledge is not available to most people, with only a few lucky ones having access to it. This is where Queryee comes in. We connect people who have a thirst for knowledge with those who have the knowledge so that each one of us can learn from other people. This is the only way when we all can help each other become more knowledgeable and, by extension, more empowered since knowledge is empowerment. By providing everybody with an easy-to-use, easy-to-access, and practical platform, the Queryee team wants to do their bit to make this world a much better place.
How can I start using Queryee?
Using Queryee is as easy as apple pie. If you have a question, simply post it on the Queryee platform and wait until someone answers it (which, given that Queryee has millions of users across the world, rarely takes long). Or, if you know the answer to the question that some other user has asked, go ahead and share your knowledge.
In other words, Queryee is a community where people ask and answer questions on all and any topic. If you want an answer to something, Queryee delivers content and answers from people who are knowledgeable about that topic, like real economists, police officers, financial experts, IT professionals, military veterans, doctors, screenwriters, and more.
- Ask a question if you want to know about something
- Answer a question if you are knowledgeable about that topic
We recommend that you make use of your feed and inform Queryee of the topics of interest.
- Each user’s feed is filled with topics that interest them. Go to our homepage to view your feed
- Follow people and topics for building a great feed. When you take action in your feed, they tell Queryee what you like, allowing us to show you the most relevant topics
- When you start following a particular topic, answers, and questions tagged with this topic can be seen in your feed
- When you start following people, answers and questions posted by them will appear in your feed
- The simplest way to start is: Start following a few topics of your interest and a few people who frequently share information about them
Another way to get started on the wonderful knowledge-sharing platform that Queryee is to upvote answers that, in your opinion, are helpful.

- Your (and others) votes help others see good answers, which in turn helps improve the Queryee Platform

What are Questions and Answers Policies?
Every question and every answer needs to adhere to Queryee’s Policies and the following additional policies.
Policies you must follow to post questions on Queryee
- All questions are regarded as community property
- One question could be merged with another question if both of them are asking the same thing
- All Question Topics must be directly appropriate to the question being asked. If a topic is not directly appropriate to the question being asked or is overly broad should not apply
- Queryee requires correct grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling in questions
- Questions should be used only for gaining knowledge, not for promoting a service or a business
Note: If a question is unclear or badly formatted, we will tag it for improvement instead of removing it.
You can contact us in case you feel that a question posted by you has been wrongly removed by us.
Policies you must follow to post answers on Queryee
- Every answer posted should directly respond to the concerned question
- Humorous reviews and answers are allowed only if they make it easier for someone to learn the answer. Kindly note that any answer to the survey question is subject to all these policies
- All users should disclose any appropriate affiliations clearly in their answers or in credentials that appear with the answer. Kindly note that affiliate links are not permitted
- Any self-promotion or self-promotion link which does not in any way help answer the concerned question is not permitted
- The reader should be able to understand the crux of the answer without leaving Queryee to access other websites. Answers that readers cannot understand without visiting external websites might be removed or collapsed.
What is Queryee’s Policy regarding posting reviews of services, products, or businesses?
Reviews, in simplest terms, are inputs that one gathers on the basis of their experience with a service, product, or business. Unbiased reviews can be of much value to others, helping them make an informed decision regarding a product, business, or service.
To provide the most helpful information to other users on Queryee, reviews posted on our platform:
- Must be based only on the writer’s experience
- Must disclose whether the writer is affiliated with the product, business, or service he or she is reviewing or any of their competitors or has received any reward, including monetary compensation, for writing the review
If any review posted on the Queryee platform does not follow the guidelines mentioned above, we may remove it.
What is Queryee’s policy on disclosing affiliations in answers?
Someone answering a question must clearly disclose any appropriate affiliations in their answer. Alternatively, they can disclose the affiliations in the credential field, which appears within the answer.
Here is an example: Let us assume you are answering a question regarding the company you are working for; your answer (or answer credential) must make clear your affiliation with the business in question. You can make a brief disclosure without mentioning all the details of your affiliation.
An appropriate affiliation is any involvement that would likely impact your judgment about a company, a product, or a business. Affiliations could include investments and financial interests (for example, being a member of a particular club or an alumnus of an educational institute) or an individual history that may impact your answer (for example, you are answering a question about a company with whom you are involved in a lawsuit). When it comes to disclosures, here is the general rule of thumb: If you are in two minds about whether your affiliation is appropriate, you are better off disclosing it rather than hiding it.
What is Queryee’s policy on attribution or plagiarism?
Posts and answers that paraphrase or copy from any other source must:
- Clearly attribute the source. In case of an online source, do not forget to share the link to the web page where one can find the relevant question. In the case of a physical source (like a book), do not forget to include a citation
- Clearly mention which parts of the answer or the post are taken from another source. You can format your answer or post by using quotes, blockquotes, or visually indicating which parts of it are copied from another source.
Queryee prefers people using blockquote formatting, especially if the excerpt is a long one. In case you are simply republishing content from another site that only you have written, block quoting is not necessary. Instead, citing the original publication at the bottom of your post or answer will suffice.
Keep in mind that posts and answers which plagiarize content from other sources will be collapsed. If the same answer is repeatedly posted for multiple questions, this would be treated as spam, especially if the writer did not customize the answer for every question.
What kind of content is regarded as “Adult” content on Queryee?
Queryee has a clear definition regarding what content is “Adult” and what is not. Any content (for example, video, imagery, or written content) which is pornographic, is overtly sexual or shows a sexual act is “Adult” content and hence not suitable for posting on the Queryee Platform.
Example of adult content is as follows:
- Videos or photos of sexual or intercourse acts
- Nudity (like images of nude adults) and depictions of intercourse and sexual acts (including sex scenes captured from movies, cartoons, or anime depictions)
- Provocative content or sexually-explicit content (including graphic language which is not educational or sexual fetishes)
- Sexually suggestive or explicit jokes
- Images that focus on private body parts only
- Discussion (non-educational in nature) of pornographic sites
Examples of content that is not regarded as adult:
- Discussions related to sexual education or puberty
- Tribal nudity
- Testimonies of victims of sexual attacks and violence
- Artwork containing nudity (which includes sculptures, photographs, and paintings with artistic merit and whose main purpose is not sexual stimulation)
- Videos of a mother breastfeeding an infant
Examples of Spaces that are regarded as adult
- Spaces that are clearly tagged as adult
- Spaces related to pornographic content, nude images, and sex work
- Spaces that encourage sharing, viewing, or posting of content that is sexually explicit through a Space name that contains such keywords as “sexy,” “hot”, “jaw-dropping”, “sultry”, etc.
- Spaces having multiple posts which are “adult”
- Spaces mainly used to share sexually-explicit humor
Examples of Spaces that are not regarded as adult
- Spaces which offer support to those who have experienced sexual violence
- Spaces that women use for discussing best practices and tips related to breastfeeding
What does it mean to be verified on Queryee? What is a verified profile? How does Query verify an account?
You can see the verified checkmark icon on profile pages of high-visibility and well-known public figures in not-very-technical domains such as entertainment, business, sports, journalism, government, and other general areas. In order to support Queryee’s mission (which is to help each one of us share and grow knowledge), our team would verify a specific profile in case we believe a lot of people who are reading answers posted by this particular person would recognize the name.
What is a verified profile on Queryee?
In the simplest terms, a verified profile on Queryee is a public figure, a high-profile contributor, or an entity whose identity on the Queryee Platform has been checked and confirmed. If an account features the verified checkmark in its Queryee profile, you can safely assume that the profile has been verified.
For what reason(s) does Queryee verify profiles?
As Queryee’s scale and reach have increased, more and more public figures have started writing answers. With the help of verification, Queryee can establish and confirm the genuine identities of such contributors. We verify certain profiles so that you can rest assured in the knowledge that a high-profile person is exactly who you think they are.
What types of profiles does Queryee verify?
If any of our users are likely to recognize an individual’s name or background, then we will probably verify that person’s profile.
What about organizational or company accounts?
Queryee does not verify all organizational or company profiles. The same standard that is used for verifying individuals is used for verifying organizational or company profiles.
Apart from verification, what other options a user has to show his or her profile is genuine?
The easiest way to prove the genuineness of your identity is by linking your Queryee profile to your Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook profiles. This is something that you can do by going to your Queryee Settings. To access Settings, click your name on the top right-hand side.
What is the procedure for submitting my profile for verification?
You can do so by completing the relevant form. For more information, kindly contact us. While filling out the form, do not forget to provide all relevant information.
What is Queryee’s policy on credentials?
Topic and profile credentials are very small descriptions of your interests, experience, or expertise, which get displayed along with your name on answers. Keep in mind that credentials must always be helpful and true.
A great credential makes it easier:
- For other users to have a fair idea about why you are a good candidate to provide answers to the question
- For other users to determine what sort of questions to ask you
- For your answer to get more visibility
Profile credentials:
- Must be helpful and truthful. They should describe an individual connection to 1 topic area at minimum, about which an individual can write about
- Could provide a short and generalized description of your interests, experience, or expertise
- Novelist and Blogger from Southern America
- Cinematographer, British ex-pat in Sri Lanka
- Personal philosophies, personal statements of values, or personal descriptions are fine only when they organically relate to a particular topic area
Topic credentials:
- Should be helpful and truthful. Additionally, they must clearly illustrate a connection to a topic in such a way that it can be perceived by an average reader.
- Should be easily understandable even without the name of the topic
- “Top 20 blog posts” is an effective bio for blogs, but “Top 20 of them” is not. Readers are unable to see topic names next to bios. For this reason, in the case of a question concerning blog posts, “them” is not clear or unambiguous
- “8 years living in the City of Light” is an effective credential for Paris, but “living here” is not clear or unambiguous
- Clearly describe your interest, experience, or expertise in a topic
- Interest: “Enjoys reading travel blogs”
- Experience: “Reads on average five travel blog posts a week”
- Expertise: “Regularly contribute to the best travel blog website”
Kindly not that credentials which fail to meet the criteria listed above will be flagged by Queryee. It would be hidden till the user makes the required improvement. In case you believe your credentials meet our criteria but still were hidden, get in touch with our team, and we will look into the matter.
On Queryee, can you answer a question that you have only asked?
In case you know the right answer to a question, do not hesitate to post it, regardless of who has asked that question. Whether you have found out the answer after you posted the question or knew the answer at the time you listed the question, you should post the answer if you know it is the correct one.
Accordingly, we encourage users to (1) post questions to which they know the answer and (2) promptly answer their own questions.
Queryee, as you know, is a database that accumulates knowledge. It is a great practice to answer questions, even those that you have asked yourself. This way, other people who have the same question will not have to do much research; instead, they can use the answer provided by you. On Queryee, it is usual for people to be simultaneously interested in a question. By sharing the research you have done while finding the answer, you will be only helping others.
What steps should I take if my question is marked as “Needs Improvement” by Queryee?
In case Queryee has marked your question as “Needs Improvement,” it simply means that your question requires thorough proofreading. Edit your question so that others can easily and quickly understand it. Your question might:
- be ambiguous or tough to understand
- need formatting, spelling, or grammatical improvements
- need to be paraphrased to form a fully-formed question
In case a question of yours has been marked as “Needs Improvement,” others on Queryee will not be able to see it until improvements are made. Keep in mind that only the author of the question can make editions to the posted question; this is something others cannot do. Once the question has been edited and brought to the acceptable standard, it will become visible to others. Asking a question in a clear, concise language, free of formatting, grammatical, and spelling errors, helps others to clearly understand it and provide answers.
What qualities a good answer has on Queryee? What is the meaning of “being helpful”?
Queryee wants to make it easier for people to share and grow their knowledge. We try to achieve our goal by ensuring our pages provide valuable resources to users.
A good or quality answer is one that helps everyone who wants to learn the answer to that question. Quality answers are not only helpful to the person who has asked the question but also to those who may have the same question in the future. A good answer has the following qualities: credibility and clarity. A good answer also directly addresses the question that has been asked.
To be specific, good answers:
- Directly answers the question which was asked: Quality answers go a long way in helping the person who has asked the question or who has the same question that has been asked understand the answer clearly. While answering a question, you should assume always that the person has asked the question in good faith and is looking for help. Good answers neither change the subject, nor do they make fun of the question that has been asked or obsessively talk about any mistake in the question.
- Provide answers that are reusable. Helpful answers not only help the person who has asked the question but also prove to be of great help to anyone who later finds himself or herself struggling with the same question.
- Support your answers with proof and credible resources. Wherever possible, provide a basis of why you have said what you have said. The best way to do this is by sharing credible resources which clearly show you know what you are talking about.
- Good answers should be factually correct and credible. It goes without saying that for an answer to be really helpful, it should be factually correct and credible. An answer which includes incorrect premises or facts is neither helpful nor credible. You can demonstrate the credibility of your answers in more ways than one, including by listing reliable sources, sharing good examples, and clearly explaining why you have hands-on knowledge about the subject. Ideally speaking, writers should clearly indicate the reasons that make them qualified to answer the listed question. This can be done by providing good topic bios wherever it makes good sense to do so. Sometimes, helpful answers do not really need to list sources as they are provided by people who have hands-on knowledge and in-depth expertise. That said, in case a writer gives an answer which heavily depends on third-party analysis and facts (and is not based on their personal experience or knowledge, or expertise), it is always a good idea to give source material and external links.
- Are easy to read and comprehend: Helpful answers are clear in their language and choice of words. They are invariably easy to not only read but also comprehend. Keeping the formatting simple also makes the answer more readable. You can consider adding videos or images to clarify your answer even further. Great answers are also frequently fun to read. They are humorous, engaging, and thought-provoking. A quality answer, however, shies away from making inside jokes or using sarcasm.
While answering a question, you should strive to be comprehensive, detailed, helpful, and trustworthy.
What are Queryee’s guidelines for formatting posts and answers?
We are providing recommended guidelines that you can use for formatting your content on Queryee:
Simple language, correct grammar, and correct spelling make your content on Queryee readable and easy to comprehend.
- In case an answer has grammar mistakes or incorrect spelling, other users could make suggestions
- The user who has provided the answer should accept the recommended suggestions and correct the mistakes
The same goes for bulleting and spacing.
- Kindly make sure your sentences have spaces. The norm is to use one space, but if you want, you can use two as well
- Kindly avoid using spaces just before a punctuation mark. Additionally, make sure a sentence ends with one punctuation mark (not two)
- There should be one full space between paragraphs. This holds true for paragraphs that are not more than one or two sentences long
- Instead of using a customized list style, we encourage users to use Queryee’s bullet and number list buttons for creating lists
Use Italics, heading, and boldface thoughtfully
- Make sure you do not over-use these formatting styles
- For instance, your answer should not be all italics or mostly italics. Or mostly or all bold.
Follow the general capitalization rules.
What are the recommended guidelines for naming a topic on Queryee?
Generally speaking, you should capitalize a topic name the same way you would capitalize a title. That means the first word and the last word of a topic should be capitalized. Also, capitalize all words other than conjunctions, articles, and prepositions that are shorter than five letters.
Some useful examples are shared below:
- Mexico City (All words should be capitalized)
- Orange (fruit) (You should not capitalize fruit as it is simply a clarifying term)
- Recommended Topics on Queryee (Avoid capitalizing “on” since it is used as a proposition here)
- The Eternity (You should capitalize “the” in this case because it is the first word of the title)
- Into the Wild (You should not capitalize “the” here since it is an article)
Prefer Nouns
Generally speaking, nouns are given preference as topic names over adjectives or verbs. For example, use Walking rather than Walk, and use Preference rather than Prefer. Sometimes, a concept might be not easy to express as a noun. In such situations, a question template, such What Should Be Done about X? is an acceptable solution. However, as much as possible, you should use a noun.
Use plural
If the noun is not a mass noun, use its plural form in topics. For example:
- Dogs (plural)
- Oranges (plural)
- American cities (plural)
- Computer science (mass noun)
- Twitter (proper noun)
Avoid Ambiguity
Your topic names should not be ambiguous. For every name, there could only be one topic on Queryee. Our system does not permit duplicates.

What do I need to do to remove my question from Queryee?
Once you post a question on Queryee, you have a certain period (loosely referred to as the grace period) during which you can remove the question. The grace period terminates when the page in question starts registering a specific level of activity. This arrangement is in line with Queryee’s philosophy that a question belongs to the entire community rather than the original poster. That is why on our platform, the original poster does not enjoy ownership rights over their questions.
Having said that, if a question’s grace period has not expired, the original poster can remove it. To do the same, visit the question page. Then click the “…” link just under the question title. Finally, choose “Delete.” In case you do not see this option, that means the grace period of this question has expired, meaning it is no longer possible for you to delete the question.
How do I delete my Queryee account?
You can delete your Queryee account any time you like. Deleting your Queryee account means these types of content will be deleted from public view:
- Your answers
- Your profile (which includes bio and photos)
- Blog posts
- Comments
- Messages
- Endorsements
- Votes
You may not be able to remove questions that you have asked. On the Queryee platform, we believe that a question is owned by the entire community rather than by the original poster. For this reason, you can remove a question you have posted only within a short period, known as a grace period. Once this page starts registering a certain level of activity (i.e., once the grace period ends), it is no longer possible for the original poster to delete the question.
Keep in mind that the deletion of an account is an irreversible process. Some other alternatives to deletion include the following:
- Editing your Queryee Privacy Settings
- Deactivation
- Deleting (i.e., removing) individual content pieces (like posts, answers, or comments)
In case you want to delete your Queryee account, go to account privacy settings and select “Delete Account.” You will be asked for your password to confirm that you want to delete your account. After you have confirmed that you wish to permanently remove your account, the deactivation process will start without delay. You have 14 days to reactivate your account. If you login into Queryee within this 14-day period, we will reactivate your account and restore its data.
However, once the 14-day period passes, your account will get permanently deleted. This means that now it will not be possible for you to get your Queryee account restored. After 14 days, your account, your content, and your profile will be permanently removed. All personal data linked to your account will also be removed.
As mentioned in the Privacy Policy of Queryee, we might hold on to your data if required to comply with legal obligations (legal process, subpoenas, or other legal obligations). Kindly note that your content might have been shared or republished by others outside the Queryee platform. When you delete an account on Queryee, it will not remove any data or links hosted by others. That said, under Queryee’s Terms of Service, users that republish content from the Queryee Platform are under an obligation upon request to remove content that has been removed from the Queryee Platform.
