Western music is based on the Major/Relative Minor system of Keys. For each note in the 12 tone system of western music, a major scale can be constructed where the name of the key is the root, or tonic, or tonal center (all mean the same thing).
So, for the note C, we can construct a Major scale where the root or tonic or tonal center is C. This key is known as C Major consisting of the notes
