As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is expected to be implemented in late 2022. The ETIAS visa waiver program will require travelers from visa-exempt countries, including many non-European Union countries, to obtain an online authorization before traveling to the Schengen Area.
Until the ETIAS is officially implemented, travel to Europe will continue under the current visa regulations. Citizens from countries that have visa-free access to the Schengen Area can still travel without a visa for a specified period. However, it’s important to note that travel restrictions and entry requirements can change based on various factors, such as the evolving COVID-19 situation, bilateral agreements, and the policies of individual countries.
To stay informed and up to date on travel requirements, it is recommended to regularly check the official websites of the relevant embassies or consulates, as well as official government travel advisories. These sources will provide the most accurate and timely information regarding visa requirements and entry regulations for specific countries in Europe.
