I believe the orca would emerge victorious in this battle. Equipped with all the necessary weapons, orcas have the advantage over sharks. There are orca pods, such as those in the Farallon Islands, that specialize in hunting sharks. While sharks rely on their large teeth as weapons, orcas possess superior intelligence, often considered the second most intelligent animal in the ocean. They also have echolocation abilities, a deep understanding of shark biology (as demonstrated by their technique of rolling a shark upside down to induce tonic immobility), nearly flawless eyesight (unlike sharks, who have poor vision), and 3-inch interlocking teeth designed for gripping slippery prey to prevent escape.

Using their echolocation, orcas would detect the approaching shark well in advance of an attack. They would then employ tactics such as tail-slapping the shark’s head to stun it (a common technique used against sharks) and ramming it from the side to flip it over and induce tonic immobility. Subsequently, the orca would proceed to extract the shark’s liver, which is considered a delicacy for orcas. If the initial attempt to roll the shark fails, the orca may resort to biting off the shark’s dorsal fin (another common tactic used against prey) and possibly its tail. Removing the dorsal fin would make it easier for the orca to successfully roll the shark on a subsequent attempt. Even if the shark were the same size as the orca, I believe the orca’s weaponry would give it a significant advantage and reduce the shark’s chances of success.
