In the past, consuming pork was prohibited for people in the Middle East, who later became Jews and Muslims. This restriction may have stemmed from observations made by wise individuals who noticed the negative health effects associated with eating pig meat. One potential reason for this was the presence of tapeworms in pigs, which could lead to sickness and even death. Additionally, another shared practice among people in the region was the introduction of circumcision. It is believed that this practice originated from the need to prevent irritation and subsequent infection caused by sand accumulating under the foreskin.
