On the contrary, the censor board asked for 7 cuts to be made to the film. I was unable to find any concrete proof suggesting that the censor board had given Fan (2016) a standing ovation save for a tweet and a forum comment here and there (which doesn’t really quality). Also, if it had, this would be news worthy of an article in itself; the fact that there are no dedicated articles suggesting otherwise indicates that this possibly never happened.

That doesn’t undermine the film in any way though. Personally, Fan (2016) is looking like Shah Rukh Khan’s finest film in years. If people flocked to theaters to watch Dilwale (2015), there’s no way they won’t do the same for this one.
