Do you think Arijit Singh has no any competition in Bollywood singing for a long time?

Arijit Singh undoubtedly one of the finest singer of present time. I find his singing style contemporary – means the kind of style which doesn’t get old with change of time. Yes he is considered the king of Bollywood singing currently. And he connect so well with the emotion, which works more than his technicality. He has set kind of new trend, which is till date huge successful, and he has been able to maintain his distinctive identity. But certain credit for his success goes to the lyricist and the music directors as well for creation such beautiful numbers. Singers’s success depends a lot on good composition. I said so because unless a singer continue getting good composition he would be rendered helpless, and composition suiting his voice and style. It is very important. He is in an industry which is dependent on many other factors also….
Now while it comes to competition. I feel the biggest competition anyone from any field faces is from himself only. Be it a player or a singer. Over a period people goes through self transformation / change, holding on to the same temp is difficult. The way he connect to a song 10 years back could be difficult may be after five years from now. If he is being able to do that he is a genius. Secondly even if he maintains the tempo and the spirit, the trend or people’s choice may change. We have seen top singers have been rendered jobless for changing trend and taste of people ( I am not taking names of people as a mark of respect ). He may be as good singer five years down the line as he is today, but the trend may change, someone else may come up with unique voice, newer generation music director may come up with tune which would suit some other singer.
So its not about the direct competition. For that matter Arijit Singh was not competition to any of the existing singer directly while he entered Bollywood, because his singing style is different. Tomorrow if he doesn’t remain at the top, it would be not because someone sing better than him. You can not compare two singer of different genre. In all possibility he would be replaced by a different kind of singer who would connect to people in a different manner. Or he may have to share the top slot with few more singers. Sunidhi Chouhan is maintaining her slot as top singer even though other female lead singers has come up the chart very strongly. If you see the top lead singers in Bollywood both male and female, all are different, they don’t replace each other. This is true for Tollywood as well.
For top heroes as well you can hardly replace anyone, You can not imagine SRK to replace Salman in Dabangg. You can not imagine Salman to replace SRK or Amir in any of their movies. Same is true for Akshay as well. If any of them fails to be top, it would be not because of any direct competition. All of them were / are successful when each of them are at their best. Over the years they have transformed, their roles have changed but they have been able hold on, or rather increase their fan following.
If Arijit Singh is to maintain his position at top, he has to keep his connect with audience consistently. He has to carry along his fan and backers in the industry even while going through self transformation and even if new trends come.
