Many of you may find that your mother cooks far better than Restaurants

Your mothers Biriyani or Chicken Curry or Aloo Paratha would be much more tastier than what you can get at a hotel.

Still why do you go to the hotels?

Mainly because of Presentation

Baahubali I was a very ordinary story

So many stories that we have been from the Lion King to Baazigar where the son avenges the death of his father and the villian is a close friend or brother of his father.

Yet the Presentation was Awesome

That was where Rajamouli excelled.

The BGM was out of the world.

I went to see the movie very skeptically but the movies presentation was rivetting.

And then there was a Scene where Ramya Krishna yells Kattappa and he leaps down to slay the enemies of the kingdom. The BGM was out of the world especially on JBL or Dolby.

Likewise when you have the Kattappa Sudeep Scene

Likewise when you have the Kalakaiya Army and the negotiations

Likewise when you have the Entire Army thump their spears when Mahendra becomes Chief of the Army

The Story is Ardha Palesu (Old and Antique) as our friend Blue Sattai Maran says. However the presentation is fantastic.

Lets move to Baahubali II

I felt the Second Part was a bit more boring than the first part due to the unnecessary Romance.

There was no suspense and frankly i predicted why Kattappa would kill Baahubali easily

Yet MM Kreem or Keeravanis music was amazing. The scene where Kattappa kills Baahubali was raging on youtube with the music.

Yet the presentation was not as great as Baahubali I

And some of the Visuals like the ones where they get tossed into the Kingdom on Shields looked very much like a Vijayakanth or Balakrishna movie.

However the reason for the Movies phenomenal success was Expectations. The First Part whetted our appetite and we went full of expectations to watch the Second movie and found it Okayish in terms of story and presentation.

So on the whole – Baahubali was an excellent presentation of an ordinary story

A few months later we had Puli which was a Lousy Presentation of a Pretty Decent Story.

In India we rarely have Excellent Stories and Excellent Presentations. EEGA by Rajamouli is one rare example.

Top Notch Stories like Badhaai Ho or Bareilly Ki Burfi or Newton dont need presentation. They have their own niche audience and their own small to medium market.

However when the Stories are ordinary – you need only Presentation – and that works many times like Dabangg, Dhoom 3, Tanhaji etc.
