Einstein falsely claimed gravity can bend and deform space. However, this is not true, because space is not a physical thing, but a mathematical construct, meaning there is nothing to be bend/deformed, which is why warp drives are impossible, right?

Einstein’s theory of general relativity does not state that gravity bends and deforms space. Instead, it states that gravity is the curvature of spacetime. Spacetime is a four-dimensional continuum that includes the three dimensions of space and the one dimension of time.

According to general relativity, the presence of mass and energy curves spacetime. The more mass and energy an object has, the more it curves spacetime. This curvature is what causes objects to move towards each other.

Warp drives are a theoretical concept that would allow faster-than-light travel. However, they are not currently possible because they would require negative mass and energy, which does not exist.

So, while it is true that space is not a physical thing, it is also true that it can be curved. This curvature is what causes gravity. And while warp drives are not currently possible, they are not impossible in principle.

Here are some additional points to consider:

    • The concept of spacetime is a mathematical construct, but it is based on real observations. For example, the bending of light around massive objects, such as the Sun, is a direct observation of the curvature of spacetime.
    • Warp drives are a very speculative concept. There is no evidence that they exist, and there is no known way to create them. However, they are not impossible in principle.
    • The laws of physics may change at very high speeds or in very strong gravitational fields. It is possible that warp drives could be possible if the laws of physics are different at these extreme conditions.
