It is nearly impossible to detect the presence of a saltwater crocodile due to its nature as an ambush predator and its preference for murky waters. Living in a saltwater crocodile habitat myself, we follow a general rule of thumb: if a body of water is large enough to conceal a crocodile, it is best to assume that one is present and approach the area with caution and respect.

Saltwater crocodiles are adept at hiding and blending into their surroundings, making it difficult to perceive their presence.
