Cows belong to the Bovidae family, which includes antelope, while deer belong to the Cervidae family. The primary distinction lies in the fact that male deer have antlers that they shed and regrow annually, whereas antelope possess permanent horns. Another distinction is that deer antlers are branched, whereas antelope horns are not. Both are hoofed animals known as even-toed ungulates and are classified as ruminant mammals. So, in a way, we could refer to them as Cervines! 🙂
