It’s important to note that guinea pigs are the only rodents that cannot produce Vitamin C on their own, so they rely on a diet rich in vegetables, salad greens, and fruits like apples. I recommend acquiring a book specifically about guinea pigs and familiarizing yourself with their dietary needs. While I cannot definitively say if this was a contributing factor in your piggy’s case, it is worth considering.
