My dog wears a secure and personalized collar at all times. It is a flat, buckle-style collar with his name embroidered on it, along with his license and ID tags. I have had experiences with rescue dogs that were once strays, and I understand the importance of ensuring that my dog can be easily identified if he happens to get lost. While microchips are beneficial, I prefer to have visible identification on my dog’s collar as an added layer of protection.
However, I am cautious when it comes to using certain types of collars or harnesses. I never leave a body or head harness, or any form of slip or semi-slip collar, on my dog when I am not actively using them. These types of collars and harnesses have a higher risk of getting caught or tangled, potentially leading to injury or even the loss of my dog’s life. The safety and well-being of my dog are of utmost importance, so I take extra precautions to minimize any potential risks associated with certain collar or harness styles.
