3 idiots is a great entertaining movie but it reaches nowhere to truth while describing life of IIT’s and its students.

1. Rancho tops all exams with ease. He is never shown studying. C’mon man it is good to look at on TV but in real life how many students we have seen who top exams while doing masti. What message are we delivering to kids. In a highly competitive country like India you have to be hardworking to beat the competition and top the exam. Many of my friends were clever than me but were not able to clear IIT JEE simply because they do not work hard. If you are an IIT student you must have seen how much effort is put by toppers before each exam. They do other activities also but studying is their main concern.
2. Rancho is shown as a big scientist with lot of patents and papers. Anyone can do that but he does that while staying in a remote location and without any help of other scientist. Please explain me how groundbreaking experiments can be done alone (his experiments must be groundbreaking because companies in the US are looking for him) ,without any lab and without the help of other scientist. Those who have done experiments must know the value of colleagues in research work. It gives a wrong message to our teens that doing research is very easy and then also people in IIT are not doing that.
3. I got frustrated when they show an engineer with a screw onscreen. Rancho is shown to have curiosity in working of everything, so he carries a screwdriver with himself everywhere. He is shown to open fridge,toaster just for sake of learning. So following the movie i thought i should learn some electronics so i unscrewed my laptop. But i was not smart enough. I hope you got a my message. Anyone with screwdriver is not an engineer , he may be a mechanic.
4. Rancho is so brilliant that he completed BTP of 4th year student in his first year, that too with help of a screwdriver. A magic wand in Rancho’s hand would look more realistic than this.
