Homemade takoyaki sauce is a delicious addition to your takoyaki dish. Here’s a simple recipe you can try:
Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1 tablespoon ketchup
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
– 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
– 1/4 cup water
– 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, oyster sauce, sugar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and water.
2. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
3. If desired, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry and add it to the saucepan to thicken the sauce.
4. Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Remove from heat and let it cool before using as a dipping sauce for takoyaki.
