Anu Malik – Bollywood’s Notorious Copycat
Anu Malik, a prominent music director in Bollywood since 1981, has gained notoriety not only for his music but also for his impersonations of Simon Cowell and his sometimes harsh judgments as a judge on Indian Idol. While he has worked on several notable films such as Murder, Main Hoon Na, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Khiladiyon ka Khiladi, his career has been marred by numerous accusations of plagiarism.
Anu Malik and Pritam, another Bollywood composer, seem to engage in fierce competition when it comes to copying songs. Interestingly, there was even a time when Anu Malik accused Pritam of copying one of his own compositions, highlighting the irony in the situation.

This list is by no means exhaustive, as Anu Malik has faced accusations of plagiarism in other works as well. Many critics argue that despite his tendency to copy, Anu Malik’s music falls short in terms of quality compared to that of Pritam, another renowned Bollywood composer.
