Okay, so I mean, I love Queen, but choosing my favorite would be hard, so I’ll just give like a general top 10.

1. Don’t Stop Me Now- Some people listen to AC/DC for their hype music. Some people choose Van Halen. This, however, will always be my favorite hype song. This song isn’t just a song, it is an experience. The song is packed with enough energy that it could power a time-traveling DeLorean for a week. And everything about this song comes together. Mercury puts his heart and soul into every note, I honestly don’t think May has ever sounded this good on guitar, and Taylor kills it on drums. The beat is just infectious, with every second just making you want to get a guitar and rock out yourself. In total, fantastic song.
2. Bohemian Rhapsody- This is most people’s favorite Queen song, and for very, very good reason. Everyone has talked about how great this song is (including me), so I’ll keep it short. It is utterly incredible.
3. Somebody To Love- This song is kind of like the middle operatic part of “Bohemian Rhapsody” stretched out over 5 minutes with rock spliced in, and it’s great. It’s melodic, it’s soulful, and the piano and drum work on this song is amazing.
4. Killer Queen- This song is what I imagine attending a really pompous, uptight party run by the most relaxed guy in the world. The song is just so simple in describing this high-class woman and all the high-class things that she does, but the instrumentals and the flow just make it so enjoyable. Mercury’s voice has a very smooth sound to it, and the song just ends up sucking you in.
5. The Prophet’s Song- You know how I said that “Somebody To Love” was that middle part of Bohemian Rhapsody stretched out? Well, this is it fully realized. This song doesn’t just have an operatic sound, it’s lyrics, it’s tone, everything just screams opera. I just recently discovered this song listening to “Night at the Opera” for the first time, and I was amazed at how it’s not included among Queen’s greatest. Regardless, this song is stunning.
6. Crazy Little Thing Called Love- When I first heard this song, I was just kinda blown away. Not because it was so good, but because it sounded so un-Queen-like. Instead of big and grand, it’s sung with somewhat of an Elvis Presley style groove. Instead of Brian May killing it on electric guitar, he plays a nice country jangle on acoustic. It was just so bizarre. And that’s why it’s so great. This song just has everything working for it, and that’s why it’s one of Queen’s best.
7. Under Pressure- I really can’t explain why this song is so good. I mean, everything just comes from Mercury and Bowie on this. They just sing it with such passion that I am just 100% invested in the song. There are other good elements, like the drum work, but honestly, it all just comes how emotionally powerful Bowie and Mercury are. Nothing else more to say.
8. We Will Rock You- Now this is a song everyone knows why they like. Because it is just epic. You don’t care about the lyrics or the message, because the crescendo that has ascended upon your ears just kind of takes everything else away. This song is massive. This is probably Queen’s most recognizable song outside of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and for good reason. This song lasts all of 2 minutes, and they are way too awesome to describe.
9. We Are The Champions- This song could almost be described as a sequel to “We Will Rock You”, because after, Queen is relishing in the fact that they just rocked you. But the song alone is really very good. You really feel Mercury on this song, as he goes from soft-spoken to exploding grandiosity in a matter of seconds, and there is an impact for every moment to it.
10. I Want It All- This song is the song of a revolution. A song that makes you want to stand up and just get shit done. Mercury’s voice and the instrumentals just provide this song with a sense of epicness, and overall, it’s just a really good song.
