I have to say, it’s a pretty catchy song, although it reuses the background tune from a decade ago. As a white guy who falls “short” of Saweetie’s requirements, it’s a bit emasculating to listen to. The music video is pretty ghetto, I’ll have to say. I worry about people who take the ideal presented by this song seriously. But for people who enjoy the song casually, I can’t blame them (I count myself among them).

I think Saweetie is kind of a genius for putting together such a provocative piece. However, I’m not sure that the net impact on society will be a positive one — especially for people who listen to this song non-critically.
