In no particular order

1. You Take My Breath Away- A Day at the Races. minimalist yet epic at the same time. Mercury’s multi-tracked vocals are otherworldly.
2. Death on Two Legs – A Night at the Opera. Angular and jutting, probably the most angst ridden thing they ever released.
3. Somebody to Love – On Fire, Live at the Bowl. HUGE sound on this live album and Freddie kills on this version.
4. Let Me in Your Heart Again – Queen Forever. Unfinished track recorded in part for The Works. Strikes me as the narrative source for the track is Smokey Robinson and the Miracles ‘Tracks of my Tears’?
5. You and I- A Day at the Races. OMG this song is so fun I fail to understand why they never performed it live??
6. The Kiss (Aura Resurrects Flash) – Flash Gordon. Freddie’s vocals on this track sends chills down my spine.
7. Killer Queen – Sheer Heart Attack. Killer single. arrangement and performance kills.
8. All God’s People – Innuendo. Love the African vibe on this. Wonderfully proggy and OTT. always seemed to me kinda an interesting insight to where Freddie’s head was at at the time? (though that ‘when the Hurly Burly’s done’ in Was it all worth it seems more intriguing to me i.e. in Shakespeare’s MacBeth it answers the line ‘when shall we THREE meet again?’
9. Love of My Life – Live Killers. Freddie and Brian onstage with an acoustic and a spotlight, singing a love song essentially to the crowd and the atmosphere is electric 🙂
10. A Kind of Magic – A kind of Magic. Has always struck me as being their take on doing something along the lines of the Four Tops ‘Can’t Help Myself’. A bit of an arbitrary choice really I guess cause I could list maybe a dozen more for number 10.
