What does it say about a music artist that views uplifting music as dumb?

To me, I would think of the music as a person. It says an awful lot about their character if they dislike it for the fact that it is “uplifting”. I can see maybe not liking the style, or the feel, but if the main uplifting purpose is what they dislike, I would probably lose some respect for that person. I only say this because I don’t want my Grand-daughter to grow up listening to “ I just want to die todaaayyy…..” I want her “Walking On Sunshine” with the rest of our future
