What is the difference between the tone quality of an electric violin and an acoustic violin?

  1. I have heard both being played at the same time. To me, the electric violin sounds more muffled than the acoustic violin. This is because the electric violin doesn’t have anywhere for the sound to reverberate. So, if you were to play both, and they were both hooked up to speakers, the acoustic violin would sound authentic.
