It greatly depends on your location:
In a hot and dense jungle in South America, your chances of spotting a jaguar before it approaches are slim.
If you’re rock climbing in Afghanistan or Pakistan, it’s possible that a snow leopard may catch you by surprise.
Walking through the long grass or jungle in India may expose you to encounters with various animals, including leopards.
In addition, there are numerous venomous snakes and spiders that you may not see or hear unless you actively search for them. The sea also holds its own dangers if you venture into the wrong waters while diving.
In built-up areas during daytime, you generally have a low risk of animal attacks (excluding humans, of course). However, unforeseen dangers like stray gunshots may still pose a threat without your knowledge.
