Roop was portrayed by Saumya Tandon in the film Jab We Met. In the movie, Roop was Geet’s (Kareena Kapoor) sister.
But Saumya declined the offer after recently being asked for the same part in the Tele serial adaptation of the movie. They claim that she was just interested in playing Kareena Kapoor’s part.
According to a source from the production company, Saumya was asked to take on Roop’s role. However, Saumya was determined to only play the lead part.
“I am not interested on doing fiction on television,” Saumya responded when contacted. I enjoy taking on seasonal jobs.
I have already been a part of that story.” She responded, “I wouldn’t have done any role, even if it was the lead, Geet’s role,” when asked why she only wanted to play the lead character in the Tele series. An employee of the production company Shreya Creations responded to a request for comment by saying, “Unfortunately she couldn’t accommodate us.”
