Which old movie of South Indian can beat the collection of Dangal, KGF, Baahubali, etc. if it is released now?

Since I’ve seen only Kannada movies (Haven’t seen old films in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam), I’ll give the perspective of a Kannada movie buff.
Bangarada Manushya (1972).
This is one of the greatest hits in the history of Kannada cinema. It was based on farming with some story revolving around it. After watching the movie, many people from city got inspired and took up farming in villages.
The movie had an exceptional theatrical run of about 104 weeks in many theatres of Bengaluru. It also ran for over 60 weeks in other cities like Mysuru and Mangaluru. It’s the longest running movie from Kannada film industry till date.
The VCD for this movie was in so high demand back in time. It took more than 30 years for the first copy of the movie to be televised. During its release, it had a whopping 1.95cr tickets sold across the country. With today’s numbers, it would’ve surely had a lot more footfalls and with increased price tickets, it would’ve broken all the existing records in Kannada film industry and possibly across India too.

Shankar Guru (1978).
Another movie from Dr.Rajakumar’s exceptional filmography. It was one of the most hyped film of ‘Annavru’. It had footfalls of a whopping 2cr in the year 1978.
Bhookailasa (1958).
A historic drama based on the stories of Ramayana. Yet another movie from ‘Gana Gandharva’. He had played the role of Ravana to near perfection and had got huge praises all over. For its time, it had a footfalls of whopping 1.5cr across India.
Satya Harischandra (1965).
Another historical drama from ‘Varanata’. It was based on the life of king Harischandra. For its time, it had footfalls of a whopping 1.48cr across India. One of the cult classics the industry has got.
Sanadi Appanna (1977).
Another movie of ‘Rasikara Raaja’. It was a unique story based on music. Back in time, it had a total footfalls of 1.85cr across the country. Dr.Rajakumar had given an exceptional performance in that movie.
Kasturi Nivasa (1970).
A cult classic in Kannada film industry. Yet another movie of ‘Natasarvabhouma’. People remember this movie and carry a lot of emotions. Back in time, it had a footfalls of 1.67cr across India.
Babruvahana (1977).
Another historical drama regarding the duel between Arjuna and his son Babruvahana. It was one of the costliest movies made in India for its time. It had a total footfalls of 1.65cr across the country.
