Although the question implies “3 idiots” I have to annex another one as they are not separable. They are called as syndicate of Indian National Congrress in 1960’s.
They are not idiots by nature. They are stalwarts in their own field.
Top left person is K.Kamaraj who was the president of Congress party and the former chief minister of Madras (now Tamil Nadu) and was considered un corrupt chief minster at that time.
Top right person is Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy who was also a former chief Minister of Andshra Pradesh and hailed as the best administrator.
Bottom left person is S.K. Nijalingappa, who was a former chief minsiter of Mysore (now Karnataka) and also a congress president who was considered a moderate ruler.
Bottom right person is S.K.Patil,q former union minster from Maharashtra and a vetern congress leader.
Also there is a fifth person named Atulya Ghosh , but he was kept out on more occasions.
So if they are not idiots by nature, then why do I call them so?
One thing is common among them. They want to control the power from out side . That attitude made them to obscure their intelligence and duty towards nation. For that idiotic action, the nation is suffering from dynastic politics till date and which also resulted in the death of Indian National Congress Party in 1969.
The first idiotic act performed by them was in May 1964, after the death of our first prime minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru. At that time, Majority of the Congress Parliamentary favored Sri. Morarji Desai. He was an honest independent leader, who represented right wing policies. Had he been chosen as per the democratic tradition, he would have ruled like P.V. Narasimha Rao and nation would have been prospered a lot earlier.
But that independent nature has become a hurdle in the path of Morarji Desai . That is contrary to the belief of the four persons called syndicate to control power from out side.
Even though Morarji Desai enjoyed majority, he had to accept the syndicate verdict as they had more influence in the Congress party. The scene resembles as of Nehru preferred over Patel as first PM. Then Gandhiji’s role was now performed by the syndicate.
But the first idiotic decision made little impact on nation as the person chosen is Lal bahdur Shastri, a humble and an honest person who was liked by many congress men. So that it did not passed as an idiotic decision.
But again in 1966 january after Lal Bahdur Shastri’s death the situation was repeated. But this time the syndicate made a grave historical mistake in assessing the personality of Indira Gandhi. That mistake is haunting India till date.
We have already seen how indirect control of government can effect the nation from 2004 to 2014.
So that envisaged sight of the four persons spoiled India’s future and now we are seeing almost all the political parties (barring BJP and Communists) are resorting to dynastic politics in India. The seed has grown in 1966 and now it has became biggest tree which we can not uproot.
So they can be a better choice as 4 Idiots of the India after Independence.
