hohum okaaaay what I think is happening is that you’re looking at the main main songs which are usually ecstatic in that way to get as much attention as possible to pave way for the listeners to also check out the whole album, not just the main song.

etc. here BTS is sending messages to themselves and to their listeners. They say to live life the way we want, it’s okay if we make mistakes, it’s okay to have fun while we’re still young. I interpreted it as BTS telling us not to lose our youth and make the best of it. For the “I forgive you” I think they mean they forgive us for leaving our responsibilities behind for a little while. It’s good to loosen up sometimes but remember (note from me) don’t let yourself go and keep being productive.

this is romantic yes, talking about heartbreak. I feel like this song was written to show the conflict but similarity between hate and love and the hardships of relationships.

Now here I don’t see it as romantic. Here this song is directed to army. BTS always express their love for their fans and I see this song as them telling us how we are the ones who push then on and support them. BTS also often sings/talks about armies being the best of them (hence the next song).

BTS sing about armies’ faithful following throughout all these years and they express their gratefulness for the support with this song. Army is the truthfully only reason why BTS is famous now; because if there are no supporters, they would be unheard.

….this song is about the sensitive subject of ending one’s life. Here BTS is offering support to armies who are having a hard time, maybe those that have no one to support them, and this song shows them that BTS cares about that and that there is purpose to live. They compare their fans to Butterflies, graceful, fragile (in this moment not usually) and beautiful. Ah I love this song.

I shall finish here although I haven’t even grazed the surface. Many songs are about army and dedicated to army (for example Heartbeat), some are about love and heartbreak (eg. Tear), some are about haters (eg. Ugh, Cypher pt 4, Ddaeng and various Agust D productions).

Not to even speak about Map of the Soul: 7 which is all about BTS hardships and their growth (also songs about army sometimes, but mostly about their journey as BTS).
