Just like how you aren’t crushed by the atmospheric pressure around you because the pressure inside your body matches the pressure outside, deep-sea fishes also live in a high-pressure environment where their internal pressure is equal to the external pressure. If one of these fishes is caught in a net and brought to the surface, it can experience a sudden change in pressure, causing it to explode.
