Katappa killed Baahubali in the Indian epic historical fiction film “Baahubali: The Beginning” because he was ordered to do so by the queen mother Sivagami, who was tricked into believing that Baahubali had plotted against her and was a threat to the kingdom of Mahishmati. However, in the sequel “Baahubali: The Conclusion”, it is revealed that the real reason behind Baahubali’s death was a conspiracy by Bhallaladeva, who wanted to take over the throne and eliminate his rival.
