Today marks 17 years since the release of Bollywood’s Dabman Salman Khan’s film “Tere Naam”. The film was released in the year 2003. It was the same film that supported Salman’s sinking career. Salman had become famous overnight by the name of Radhe.
Her actress Bhumika Chawla was also seen in this film, this was her first film.
The film ‘Tere Naam’ was a remake of a Tamil film ‘Setu’. During this film, the rivalry of Anurag Kashyap and Salman Khan started. Actually this film was previously directed by Anurag Kashyap. Anurag is said to have said that the film’s hero was Mathura from the Agra side. So Anurag could not see Salman in the character of UP boy. So Anurag tried and advised Salman to grow chest hair.
Keep watching Salman, Anurag and he listens to them all. But he did not say anything. The very next day, Anurag Kashyap received a call from the producer of the film. When Anurag reached to meet her, a glass bottle came flying towards him.
After this the producer shouted and said – You will tell Salman to grow hair! After this, Anurag Kashyap was replaced by the film overnight and later the film was directed by Satish Kaushik.
‘Tere Naam’ proved to be a game changer for Salman Khan, the film did well. Especially in the film, Salman’s long haired look was liked by everyone.
