I went to watch Kabir Singh with my family. All the members of my family disapproved the film. However, they kept talking over the plot and Kabir Singh’s character and the way the movie throws up a hero with more gray shades in his character than positives.
And that exactly, is the strength of the movie Kabir Singh. You like it or not but you keep talking about it…and may be you’ll watch it again …and again.
Never was a hero seen who drinks gallons of wine, puts ice under…., slaps his sweet heart hard in the face and most importantly, offers a cigarette and even lights it for the villain whom he bashed up moments before.
This eccentricity was liked by the masses. The stereotypes who travel to their offices to reach by 9 and leave offices at 6 and do such routine things as would be taught by a circus director to his clowns, liked this movie.
There was something different. What do the typical stereotypes, rat-race participants think?
I bow to my boss, but …..KS does not. I get a grade 5 point someone but he tops.
I’m always afraid of those higher up in the office hierarchy. He asks them to rusticate him. ….
I sleep like a log in the cold night. He can get up and though intoxicated like a dead body, can perform a major surgery to save someone….
No man…he’s different. How can he be like that? No man…I’m going to watch again!!
And that’s where Kabir Singh, the movie, wins.
See his other side too. He saves a dying woman, he cannot tell a lie in the court even at the cost of losing his medical qualification and he can feel the heart of his father when the grandma dies…
Oh! Kabir you’re so pure…you’re a diamond among the stones.
If only there were real Kabir Singhs…the world would have been much better.
