Lions, being social animals, have the capacity to eventually accept humans as part of their pride. The remarkable story of Neil the Lion serves as a testament to this bond.
The images depict Tippi Hedren, renowned for her role in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, along with her husband Noel Marshall, her daughter Melanie Griffith (from her previous marriage to Peter Griffith), and their lion companion, Neil. These photographs capture the unique dynamics of their household. At the time these pictures were taken, Melanie was 19 years old.
