It is not true that they were not celebrated. There was huge hype and they also did perform well financially, but they did not go beyond the languages like Tamil and Telugu. 2point0 did better in Hindi, but it still underperformed. There were simply too many expectations from the film, and thanks to Akshay Kumar’s performance, it attracted a wider audience. But somehow the novelty cum nativity factor was missing. There were emotions alright, but when compared to Baahubali2, it was not strong enough.

Another factor could also be the campaign and the immense curiosity that Baahubali-1 created for the sequel. Robot did create expectations, but in terms of plot, there is not much that lead to the public to guess the plot of 2point0.

Robot and 2point0 were movies that were purely running on Rajni’s stardom. But Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2 were based upon characters and plot and the visual treats. 2point0, in particular could have done better in vfx since some shots felt not up to the mark(not that public will complain about small parts of the movie, but on the whole it becomes difficult to market the film to a wider audience when some drawbacks are visible and some weakness in the script feels like an achilles heel).

So there you go, Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2 felt like historical epics drawing in emotions from Mahaabharatha, Ramayana, some historical places, etc., while the Robot and 2point0 lacked that visual consistency even though they were good entertainers in their own right.
