The statement that there is no gravity in space is a common misconception. In fact, gravity is present everywhere in the universe. However, the strength of gravity can vary greatly depending on the mass of the objects involved and the distance between them.
In space, there are often very few objects with significant mass, so the gravitational force between them is very weak. This is why astronauts in orbit around the Earth appear to be weightless. They are not actually weightless; they are still being pulled towards the Earth by gravity. However, they are moving so fast that they are constantly falling around the Earth, which is why they do not experience the effects of gravity in the same way that we do on the surface of the Earth.
The strength of gravity also decreases with distance. This is why the Moon has less gravity than the Earth, and why the Sun has less gravity than the Earth and the Moon combined.
So, while it is true that gravity is weaker in space than it is on Earth, it is not true that there is no gravity in space. Gravity is always present, but its effects can be very weak in some cases.
