It’s not about me, but rather about a former doctor of mine who was a fantastic neurologist. She was the first migraine specialist I had ever encountered who was both compassionate and capable of assisting me, back in the late 90s and early 2000s when there were no new series of medications. However, she was compelled to become a doctor by her parents, who were also physicians. She did it because being a part of her family meant being a doctor, and she gave it her all. Nonetheless, her true passion was for art. As soon as she could retire, she pursued it. I was disheartened when she left because the doctor who took over the clinic was not as good as her, and our relationship became one of dislike. I have never had a genuinely good doctor since she retired. However, I discovered her on Facebook a while ago and saw that she is an artist now, which at the very least makes me happy to know that she is content.
