It’s normal to feel some muscle soreness after exercise. This is called delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). DOMS is caused by microscopic tears in your muscle fibers. These tears heal over time, and the soreness usually goes away within a few days.

If your body is aching after exercise, it’s important to listen to your body and rest when you need to. You should also avoid strenuous activity until the soreness goes away.

Here are some tips for relieving muscle soreness:

    • Stretching: Stretching can help to improve blood flow to your muscles and reduce soreness.
    • Massage: Massage can also help to reduce soreness and improve blood flow.
    • Ice: Applying ice to your sore muscles can help to reduce inflammation and pain.
    • Heat: Applying heat to your sore muscles can also help to reduce inflammation and pain.
    • Rest: Getting plenty of rest will help your muscles to heal and recover.

If your muscle soreness is severe or doesn’t go away after a few days, you should see a doctor.

Here are some additional tips to prevent muscle soreness:

    • Warm up before you exercise: Warming up helps to prepare your muscles for activity and reduce the risk of injury.
    • Cool down after you exercise: Cooling down helps your muscles to relax and recover.
    • Listen to your body: If you’re feeling pain, stop exercising and rest.
    • Gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts: This will help your muscles to adapt to the stress of exercise and reduce the risk of soreness.
    • Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water before, during, and after exercise will help to prevent muscle soreness.
    • Eat a healthy diet: Eating a healthy diet will help to provide your muscles with the nutrients they need to recover from exercise.
