If the reports are to be believed, there is a Nile crocodile that goes by the name Gustav, known for its impressive size and alleged human attacks.

First sighted in Burundi in 1998, Gustav was estimated to be around 60 years old, weighing approximately 1 ton and measuring 6.1 meters long by 2004. There were subsequent encounters and sightings of Gustav, with the last reported sighting in 2008, where it was said to have grown even larger, surpassing 7 meters in length.

According to local accounts, Gustav is rumored to have killed around 300 people. Interestingly, he does not consume his human victims but instead prefers hunting hippos, instilling fear in other crocodiles who tend to avoid them.

The locals have made attempts to kill Gustav, but so far, luck has not been on their side. Out of the 300 people killed, it is believed that only about half of the hunters who pursued Gustav have managed to survive.

Gustav is said to be easily recognizable due to the numerous bullet wounds that cover his body, evidence of previous encounters with humans. He is known for his volatile temperament, making it difficult for those who have spotted him to escape unscathed.

While some crocodiles suspected to be Gustav have been shot and killed, renowned expert Patrice Faye believes that these were mere imposters and that the true Gustav is still at large.

However, it is important to consider that the entire story may be nothing more than a sensationalized tale with little factual basis.
