For me, the most surprising creatures are these small fellows. I once stumbled upon one at Casurina beach in the Northern Territory. I picked it up and marveled at how it changed colors, becoming lighter and darker as it crawled over my hand. Little did I know at the time that it possessed a deadly venom and could have potentially killed me. It’s quite amusing to think back on it now, considering I only discovered its lethal nature later on. The one I encountered was nearly twice the size of the ones pictured here, or at least that’s how I recall it from my memory.
