Gulzar often uses the metaphor of salt to represent tears. Here too, in this line “zabaan pe laaga re,namak ishq ka”, the indication is towards a state when the heart is so used to bearing (and absorbing) the pain of love, that it starts enjoying and can’t let it go even that means pain and tears. So the heart enjoys this taste of tears.
