Boy, naming one song is tough. Real tough.
Old Bollywood songs. Wow, this should be interesting. I will try to name the songs which I didn’t find in the answers I read. So, here goes(definitely in no particular order, just listing songs as they come to my mind):
Dil Aaj Shayar Hai – Gambler
Something about the song hits right in the heart, each time I listen to it. It is melodiously melancholic.
Mere Dil Mein Aaj Kya Hai- Daag
A song encapsulating similar feelings as the previous one.
Main Shayar To Nahi – Bobby
Just listen to it, if you haven’t already.
Tu Tu Hai Wahi – Yeh Waada Raha
A simple, cute, and feel-good romantic song. And no, I prefer this version over any of the remixes.
Jaanejaan – Jawani Diwani
A fun duet.
Baahon Mein Chale Aao – Anamika
Pyaar Deewana Hota Hai – Kati Patang
Well, it’s a Rajesh Khanna song. Need I say more?
Raina Beeti Jaaye – Amar Prem
The list is probably turning out to be biased to Rajesh Khanna, but let’s face it: he really did get the best songs of his time xD
Chingari Koi Bhadke – Amar Prem
Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye – Anand
Last Khanna song on this list. I can suggest a lot more, but I think I’d rather let YouTube “Recommended up next” do my job now!
Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai – Guide
What a movie, what a song. And yeah, my name is Tamanna too. Let’s not talk about it, or shall we? 🙂
Badan Pe Sitare – Prince
Speaking of having Tamanna in the lyrics, this iconic song cannot be missed. The lyrics have got me embarrassed quite a few times, but I would be damned if I denied liking the song! :p
Intehaa Ho Gayi Intezaar Ki – Sharabi
The sudden change of tempo in the end is disappointing, but the portion preceding it is great.
Aap Jaisa Koi – Qurbani
Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein – Sadma
Aye Zindagi Gale Laga Le – Sadma
Yeh Haseen Waadiyan – Roja
The list would have been incomplete without some A R Rahman.
Chhoti Si Aasha – Roja
This song will always be special to me because I performed on stage for the very first time on this song, during Durga Puja celebrations. 🙂
Dil Se – Dil Se
Intense.
Chhaiya Chhaiya – Dil Se
Piya Tu Ab Tu Aaja – Caravan
A painfully obvious choice, but a dance number like that deserves a mention, doesn’t it?
Tum Jo Mil Gaye Ho- Hanste Zakhm
Phenomenal song by Rafi sahab. And the mix by The Bartender, sung by Suman Shridhar is brilliant take, too.
Aaj Ki Raat – Anamika
Another memorable Helen song, and the Shalmali Kholgade version is refreshing too.
Pehla Nasha – Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar
This song. Daaamn.
Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain – Saajan
Saajan’s soundtrack was on a different level.
Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai – Saajan
Akele Hain To Kya Ghum Hai- QSQT
Coming to know that it is so blatantly plagiarized was a blow, but there’s no denying that Jatin-Lalit adapted the song too well.
Ae Mere Humafar – QSQT
